Christmas to come 2 days early for some?

Tracking

At Apple’s WWDC last week the scheduled release date for the new iPhone 3G S was announced to be Friday June 19th.

There has been much confusion over the last week around what the best method seems to be to obtain the new phone.

You could “reserve” one online to pick up at an Apple Store on launch day, you could pre-pay for a phone on AT&T.com and pick up your phone on launch day and of course you could just choose to roll the dice and show up to either of the two stores on launch day, get in line and hope you get a phone.

The one method, which I haven’t mentioned, though clearly seems to be the front runner for “best” way to yourself a 3G S.

If you ordered, and paid, for your iPhone 3G S from Apple.com and chose home delivery, as I reported yesterday, you probably already received your UPS tracking number.

But this morning comes even better news for some.

When I checked the tracking status for my phone this morning I noticed it’s been updated with a delivery date of Wednesday 6/17, tomorrow!  2 days early.

Time will tell if this actually comes to fruition or is just a UPS glitch so stay tuned.

And if you did order from Apple.com check UPS for your tracking information.  Remember you must either be home to actually sign for the package or leave the completed release form for the driver.
