I haven’t shopped these prices, but I *have* seen several things relabeled as ‘for Netbooks’ carrying a higher price … sort of like Sandisk does with their memory cards …

For your last case, I’d suggest this one: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14660 It’s not as classy as the full black, the inside of it is red, but it IS less than 5$, no shipping, and as far as the one I got, really perfect manufacturing. It feels and looks just like the more expensive brand name ones I’ve seen in shops.
