I’ve been using IM+ all day. It was my client of choice before… And still is. The app works great. I’m really impressed with the push implementation and don’t expect to be using SMS nearly as much now.

@bluemonq: With Beejive, only the latest message shows up as an alert, overriding the earlier notifications, and the badge on the app icon shows the total number of messages received. Probably the same with IM+.

Beejive is totally unstable, though. It crashes whenever I try to reply to a pushed message, but then I usually have a bunch of other stuff running as well.

So… what happens when one of your friends decides to send 10 messages in a row? Do later notifications cancel out previous ones, or will you have to click through 10 of them/click view (taking you out of your current app) if you want to ignore them?
