I am a huge fan of the “bundling” of applications for the Mac. This approach to promoting a wide variety of applications has introduced me to some of my favorites. In fact, it is safe to say that I might never have even considered many of my current favorites had they not been part of a larger bundle. They were, though, so I tried them a loved them.

Well, he newest “bundler” on the block, TheMacBundles, is back with their second offering.

Once again The Mac Bundles is offering eleven applications (with two bonus apps for the first days) for just $49.95.

Among them are some of my favorites. Typinator (normally $28) lets you automatically insert frequently used text and graphics and auto-corrects typing errors. MailTags (normally $29.95) adds amazing power to Apple’s Mail application.

There are also some recent personal favorites like the screen capture utility Voila (normally $39.95) and new ones such as Shutterbug and Trampoline.

In all, TheMacBundles offers a savings of over 80% on these great applications. If you want or need EVEN ONE it might be more than worthwhile for you and, in the process, you might find a new favorite or two.

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
