Not sure what the issue might be... It may curve as it follows the road (due to satelite navigation/tracking), but you won't have an active map. So, you should be able to stay on route, but don't go off, or you'll have trouble getting back on route. This happened to me last year when trying to compare Google Maps on the 3G to my Tilt and AT&T Navigator out in the Boonies here in IL. I've experienced this first hand...
