One theory I have about this is that people are tired of buying crappy hardware from HP and more. They want to buy something that will not only look cool but last. Apple Hardware is rock solid. Even I would LOVE to buy one now....it may not run Mac OS X on it, but I would buy one nonetheless. About time that Apple include a SD slot.

Having used both the differences are small but for me significant. An sd slot, slight bump in processor power, sealed battery for more runtime, ability to have 8 GB ram (currently a minimum of $700+ upgrade- ouch!!!!), FireWire 800. My 13" MB is the model JUST BEFORE it was declared a MBP. I'm not certain if there's really any difference between what I have and what you have, Dan (I hope not...). I love mine. Its truly awesome!
