One deal per day and only one deal. That’s the woot.com business model. Well, it’s hard to believe, but woot is now 5 years old today! They have a special deal for you if you’re lucky. Today’s woot are the famous woot-off lights. They are USB powered and generally useless except for having fun with your co workers. Except since today is woot’s birthday, you have a 1/10 chance of winning a bag of crap. Sometimes your crap can be really good. Other times, it’s, well, crap. Everyone tries to buy the crap because you never know when you will get a insanely good deal.
How do they determine who gets the crap? Well if the last digit of your order number matches the ones digit of the Dow Jones Industrial Average on Monday, July 13, then you get the infamous bag of crap. This is a much better way to give out crap without killing their web servers on a Sunday. Happy Birthday to woot.com!
