I posted a review of ibisMail, a full email client for the iPhone recently. I’m impressed with it on a number of levels and have begun using it as my main email client. Just a day later there are two bits of news to share.
First off, the app is currently on sale for just $1.99. This price is good until July 15.
Second, the reviews in the App Store report some instability in which the app did not launch or crashed soon after launching. In my review I noted that I saw none of this behavior.
Today the copy on my touch would not work. (The iPhone version continued to function as expected.) I removed and reinstalled the app on my touch and it is working well now. Still, this kind of instability is always a concern.
Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”)
Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
