I’m a big fan of Twitter.
Two of my favorite Twitter clients for the iPhone are Tweetie and Twittelator Pro.
Unfortunately neither supports push notifications.
Tweetie can be coupled with Boxcar to get push notifications on the iPhone but it’s sort of a patch solution and you have to purchase two apps.
Now comes Twitbit which appears to be the first client for the iPhone to support push notifications from the app. itself.
Once installed and configured, Twitbit notifies you of @ replies and direct messages.
As a full fledged Twitter client it’s not as robust as some of the others but for now it’s the only Twitter app. to offer push notifications.
Twitbit is available from the iTunes App Store for $4.99
