Twitter & Facebook on my TV? Really?

I sat down in my “chair” tonight and flipped on the TV.

Verizon Fios, to which I’m subscribed to for TV, internet and phone service, greeted me with a message that informed my I could now get Twitter & Facebook on my television.

As if I needed another excuse not to get up from my “chair.” Watch my video to see it in action.

I have always had a passion for gear and gadgets. It all started for me with the release of the very first Palm Pilot. I've always had an interest in handheld electronics. From handheld PDAs, to cell phones, Mp3 players, watches and other products, I'm the first person my friends, family and colleagues call when they need advice on tech. I have roots in the online tech. forum community. I served as the Administrator to Howard Forums.com and as a Moderator at both Treo Central.com and Blackberry Forums.net. Under the screen name “lgreenberg” I've amassed 50,000+ postings. I also manage my own YouTube channel under the user name larrygreenberg. I'm always eager to help.

Obviously a way for the TV stations / cable companies to attempt to lure back people from their computer screens. Funny but it just seems easier to watch TV on my computer than to try to port applications to my TV.

Well, now a days a TV IS a computer monitor. The Neuros Link has a HDMI port on it and so do many other graphics cards. It’s easy as heck to attach a computer to a TV screen. It is harder to integrate it into a TV.
