Welcome back to the GearGames weekly video game release feature here at Gear Diary! Every summer you get a few movie games released on every platform possible – and once again we have one with G-Force. My personal expectations for both the movie and game are quite low – I find that movies as hyped as this never live up to expectations, and games better than movies are exceedingly rare.

There is not much else in terms of big releases. There are a couple of Watchman games, a few Arcade releases (XBLA and PSN), a over-priced Rock Band track-pack, and some other low-profile releases that may or may not get to shelves this week. Anyway, check out the list!

360

  • G-Force
  • Black College Football Experience – The Doug Williams Edition
  • Watchmen: The End is Nigh Part 1 & 2
  • Rock Band Country Track Pack

ps3

  • G-Force
  • Shatter
  • Watchmen: The End is Nigh Complete Experience
  • Rock Band Country Track Pack

wii

  • G-Force
  • Little King’s Story
  • Reel Fishing: Angler’s Dream
  • 5 Spots Party

ps2

  • G-Force
  • Rock Band Country Track Pack

psp

  • G-Force
  • Strikers 1945 Plus Portable

ds

  • G-Force

pc

  • G-Force
  • Farm Frenzy 3
  • Sudoku Ball Detective

Some notes from last week:

  • Secrets of Monkey Island (PC, XBLA)
  • - One of the best adventure games of all time translates perfectly into modern day graphics and controls and retains all of its’ charm. Consider this a ‘must have’ if you like the genre at all.

  • NCAA Football 10 (X360, PS3, PS2, PSP)
  • - Solid game that keeps stuff fans of the original loved but doesn’t add much new.

  • Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This?(PSP)
  • - Innovative title, with a quirky style of humor, but ultimately more frustrating than fun.
    What I’m Currently Playing:
Finished most everything else from last week and focused on these:

  • PC: Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines – I truly consider this the best RPG of the last 5 years and one of the top-10 of all-time. The depth and variation of story elements and role-playing opportunities are amazing. I’m deep into the game, and even though I know it very well, there are constantly pleasant little surprises.
  • DS: (Anno 1404) Dawn of Discovery – this game is just a blast, mixing great strategy and world-building elements.

So what are you playing? Chime in below!

Enjoy gaming!

I have loved technology for as long as I can remember - and have been a computer gamer since the PDP-10! Mobile Technology has played a major role in my life - I have used an electronic companion since the HP95LX more than 20 years ago, and have been a 'Laptop First' person since my Compaq LTE Lite 3/20 and Powerbook 170 back in 1991! As an avid gamer and gadget-junkie I was constantly asked for my opinions on new technology, which led to writing small blurbs ... and eventually becoming a reviewer many years ago. My family is my biggest priority in life, and they alternate between loving and tolerating my gaming and gadget hobbies ... but ultimately benefits from the addition of technology to our lives!
