Two researchers, Charles Miller and fellow cybersecurity researcher, Collin Mulliner, have found an iPhone bug that could infect phones virally through SMS.

They plan to show their discovery today at the Blackhat cybersecurity conference in Las Vegas.

If you receive a text message with a single square character, you are advised to immediately switch off your iPhone, as they warn it means that someone has used the bug to take over your iPhone.

The virus allows that person can then make calls, send messages, take pictures and more all from your device.

You essentially loose control of your iPhone.

The duo says they discovered the SMS hack 6 weeks ago and reported it to Apple, but they have yet to release a patch.
