Gear Diary has been chosen to participate in another huge giveaway sponsored by HP & Microsoft, where we along with 24 other sites will make one of our readers a major winner!

You are welcome to enter at every site listed below, but you can only win once. Each site will give away prize packages including an HP dv6, an HP Mini 110 and Syncables software – which allows you to keep the larger laptop at home but carry the smaller netbook (synced and carrying all of your data!) when on the go. Our winner will also get a customized Gear Diary Timbuk2 bag to carry their loot!

Bear in mind that each site is running their own contest with their own rules, and they will all be differently done. Some will be simple to enter, and some sites are going to make you really work for the prize! Not all contests will be open to winners all over the world, but ours is… ;-)

Keep this in mind:

Some conditions apply and you need to be aware of those: if you win a prize bundle in one of the websites, then you can’t win again in the whole competition. We will try to send you the prize bundle, but depending where you live customs and tax conditions may prevent this. In this case we will provide you with an equivalent credit on a HP online store.

We’ll post details on Gear Diary’s giveaway requirements on September 5th, but until then – you can read more about the goodies and the other participating sites, here.

I’ll also be posting about my experiences using the two laptops and the syncing software, because in addition to supplying each site with prizes for our readers, HP and Microsoft have also given each of us laptop/netbook/software sets on long term loan.

I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford
