The Gadgeteer Turns 12, but You Get the Presents!

Twelve years ago this month (give or take a week or two) I started The Gadgeteer as a goofy little review site on the then free webpage hosting service Geocities. People seemed to like my reviews, so I registered the domain name four months later, moved to a real hosting site – and the rest is history!

As many of you know, I had the distinct pleasure of working with Julie Strietelmeier at The Gadgeteer for six years, so this milestone is one that I hold near and dear. For her site’s 12th birthday, Julie has rounded up some fab sponsors and excellent gifts – including an HP dv4 laptop and other major goodies for the first place winner!

1st place winner (1) will receive -
HP Pavilion dv4 (1145go) laptop with a 320GB hard drive and 4GB of memory
Tom Bihn ID Messenger bag and Brain cell sleeve
NZXT Cryo S laptop cooler
NZXT Avatar mouse
Livescribe SmartPen
Seagate FreeAgent Go hard drive (Red)
TokyoFlash Saishin Retsu (Gunmetal+Green LED) watch
Flipside wallet
$80 Vaja gift certificate

2nd place winner (1) will receive -
TokyoFlash NI (Stainless Steel+White LED) watch
Flipside wallet
$80 Vaja gift certificate

3rd place winner (1) will receive -
Flipside wallet
$80 Vaja gift certificate

4th place winners (7) will receive -
$80 Vaja gift certificate

The Gadgeteer is one of the oldest and most well regarded review sites, and it is no wonder that they are continuing on strong. Here’s to many more happy birthdays for Julie and the crew at The Gadgeteer!

I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford
