It’s hard to believe, but until today the Mac was sans Application Store. Sure you could go to Apple’s listing of apps in the Apple Online Store but that’s not the kind of app store we are talking about. No, we’re talking about an app store that shows nice graphics of applications, allows reviews etc.

Well, the App Bodega is open for business and it has a great look and feel.

The App bodega is…

Your corner store for apps.

We’ve all been there – hunting for that one killer app that would make life so much easier. If only it existed. If only we could find it. With Bodega, you don’t have to spend your time hunting for software – it’s your one-stop for all your software needs.

It lets you quickly search the application catalogue, browse applications based on ratings or popularity, review applications, quickly update applications, buy directly from within the interface and protect your receipts and serial numbers.

Overall it looks slick and has a nice selection of applications- especially for something that just launched. Here’s a quick look…

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
