Do you struggle with having to remove your iPhone’s case every time you go to use an accessory that has a built in dock?
There are many iPhone accessories which allow you to stream audio and video from the phone or simply sync and charge.
I myself use two, the iHome iP99 Clock Radio and the Griffin Simplifi. Â Most of my cases fit in these docks with adapters but some do not, including my favorite case, the OtterBox Defender.
The Cable Jive Dock Extender is a cable which allows you to plug your iPhone into the dock accessory of your choice without removing it’s case.
The cable comes in two sizes 2 feet ($25.95) and 6 feet ($31.95) and comes in either black or white.
For more information check out the Cable Jive web site.

Aren’t these like iStubs, but 3x the price?

I’m not familiar with iStubs.
If you mean iStubz, which I also posted about here – http://www.geardiary.com/2009/.....od-cables/
The answer is no.
The iStubz are charge/sync cables. Male to USB.
This cable is Male to Female for use with accessories that require a dock connection.

It will not work in the Defender. I'm told a few people have modded the cable by filing down the edges and gotten it to fit but out of the box the answer is no.
