I’ll keep this brief… If you missed this NYTimes piece on the first round in the Google-Apple boxing match when it was published a few days ago, I recommend it as a “MUST-READ”. In it David Pogue does a great job of putting the whole Google Voice debacle in context.

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone.
