MS has an alliance with Yahoo now, Apple is "divorcing" as you say. What's next, I wonder? Yahoo already has web email, and AT&T has oursourced their traditional POP3/SMTP service to Yahoo. Will we see YDocs, etc, "powered by Microsoft"? It will be interesting to see where things are in 6 months, and how Google reacts. I must admit, I've never cared for Google. I can't put my finger on it, but for some reason I've always preferred Yahoo. Maybe it's that stark, almost barren Google home page compared to Yahoo's.
