What about the iPod and iPod Shuffle is making case manufacturer’s think of food?

Is it because the Shuffle is small enough to eat?

Or is it because it’s about the size of a pack of gum?

There are several food inspired cases available now for the 3rd generation iPod Shuffle.

Here are just a few of the more unique ones I’ve come across for it and the iPod as well.

Take Incipio for example.

They have three cases in their portfolio for the 3rd gen. shuffle which all resemble food.

The Wafer Cookie which sells for $13.99 and comes in 3 colors.

The Mint, also available for $13.99 and in 3 colors.

And the Treat available in 2 colors for $13.99

Then there’s Switch Easy which has thrown its offering on the Shuffle case table.

The Chocoshuffle is available for $8.99 and comes in three flavors, chocolate, white chocolate and strawberry.

The food themed cases are not limited to 3rd generation shuffle either.

Keeping with the chocolate theme there’s the Q-Pot Chocolate.

With the 2nd generation Shuffle we saw the “Bacon Case.”

And with bacon comes eggs.

Or how about a toasted Poptart case?

Fruit themed cases are available as well.

Strawberries anyone?

Or are grapes your thing?

Of then course then there’s the other extreme.  Making the Shuffle itself into a case for food.

This person turned his 1st generation iPod Shuffle into a case for his Altoids.

I’m not quite sure what exactly it is about the iPod that inspires thoughts of food but one thing’s certain.

All these cases are making me hungry.

I’m going to go grab a snack before I start gnawing on my iPod.
