A brand-new 37-inch Sony flat screen television for $100? Great deal — until you realize you just bought an oven door.

Police in San Leandro California caught a would be scammer red handed as he tried to sell an oven door cleverly disguised as a 37-inch Sony flat screen television. The guy took a door off his oven, slapped a bunch of TV stickers and a Best Buy price label on the front, packed in some electric cables and an installation guide and inserted the everything into a real Sony TV box. He then proceeded to the Wal-Mart parking lot where he attempted to sell the “television” to unsuspecting customers for $100 claiming that he had bought it for $60 at a tag sale. Can you imagine what this guy might be able to accomplish if he put that effort into a real job?
