I just got my first Macbook in July. Before that I’ve been an avid Windows user. I got the 13″ MBP. I love it. You are right. The hardware is so amazing. The screen is amazing, the keyboard wonderful to type on, the trackpad is so ingenious. I hate using my wife’s Dell. It is so antiquated.

I do miss Outlook. Entourage is junk. But I’m looking forward to Exchange support built into Snow Leopard soon.

I bought my MacBook around April. It’s definitely not as feature-packed as any of the machines you mention above but I paid less than $2000 for it and boy am I happy with it It works well, doesn’t heat up as much as most of my old machines did and most of all, I enjoy OS X more than I did Windows. Sure, OS X has it’s moments where it starts to feel a little sluggish but most of the time, it’s because I’m running like 10 different apps at the same time …

Now I’d like to get my wife on a Mac as well and make this a Mac only household – but she’s holding out so far
