Details on Apple tablet surface

Is the leaked photo above the much anticipated Apple tablet?

According to a story surfacing today it might be.

An insider at Apple has revealed some details of the upcoming Apple Tablet to Brian Lam at Gizmodo, and here are the details.

The device will look like a giant iPhone, complete with a 10 inch screen, home button and black, resin back.  Of course the design could change at any time.

According to the article it come in two variations.  And educational version and a version with a built in web camera.

It will be priced somewhere between $700-$900.

Word is the device will be slated for release around the holidays.

    Me thinks they will just call it the iPad. Or maybe iPod Touch Wide…..

    Personally, it looks great but the main problem is that it will be a lot more locked down then a Macbook. A tablet Macbook is really what they need. Mac OS X would work find on something with this small a screen. Look at the hackintoshes.

    Given that full PC notebooks are averaging ~$750 and netbooks <$500, I think Apple might find themselves in a tough price place with this thing unless they want another niche product.
