This entry is part 11 of 33 in the series GearGames Weekly

wolfenstein-teaser

Welcome back to the GearGames weekly video game release feature here at Gear Diary! Another relatively thin week, but we are starting to gear up towards the fall with some bigger releases, this week getting Wolfenstein on multiple platforms.

Other than that, there are a few notable releases, such as the next entry in the Tales of Monkey Island series of adventure games from TellTale and LucasArts. Raven Squad is still listed as coming out this week despite notes at several sites that it has been pushed into 2010, so I left it here just in case. And finally, the Pokemon-like Spectrobes: Origins jumps from the DS to the Wii, and it will be interesting to see if it gains any depth on the transition. Anyway, check out the list!

Some notes from last week:

  • Madden NFL 10
  • - While I might complain about the $60-a-year-subscription nature of the game, the bottom line is that this year the update delivers plenty of added content and a better focus on keeping you in the action.

What games am I playing now?:

  • PC: Jedi Knight II – one of my favorite sayings is ‘there is never a bad time to replay a great game’! This is one of my all-time faves, and I was wondering if it was netbook friendly … it is, and I’m more than a dozen hours into it!
  • Mac & PC: Neverwinter Nights – Just like JKII, I’m going back to 2002 to replay some of this classic and all of the expansions. I’m playing the ‘Official Campaign’ on the Mac and the first expansion ‘Shadows of Undrentide’ on the netbook.
  • Mac: “unnamed beta” – My time-sink beta continues at a crazy pace and is an amazing game I can’t wait to see finished!
  • iPhone: Wolfenstein RPG – this is a fun turn-based shooter-RPG based on the 1992 FPS Wolfenstein 3D. Loads of fun!

So what are you playing? Chime in below!

Enjoy gaming!
