I saw, but can’t remember where, that Apple’s Snow Leopard, OSX 10.6 might be shipping as early as 28-Aug-09. While most people might think that’s nothing more than rumor, and it truly might be, I have reason to believe that if its not on 28-Aug-09, then its going to be shortly after that.
I short while ago, I ordered the Up-To-Date copy of Snow Leopard for a MacBook Pro that recently graced my desk. I got a receipt (in part, shown above) for the transaction when I placed it two weeks ago. The charge didn’t show until today.
If memory serves, Apple doesn’t charge for the item until it ships, so I am expecting a notification within the next day or so letting me know that the item has shipped and will be arriving shortly.
I also got notice from ComputerWorld, citing a number of different web reports, that Apple could be launching Snow Leopard within the next couple of weeks. So, there are a number of people speculating about this.
I’d love to hear from everyone else. What do you think? Is Snow Leopard going to come out and play early? Have you been charged for your copy (Up-To-Date or otherwise)? When will OSX 10.6 hit the streets? Why don’t you join us in the discussion below and give us your thoughts?
