We all love our iPods for portability and music on the go … but sometimes you want to share your music without lugging around something huge. I’m sure many of us remember lugging around a boombox and a box of cassettes back in the 80′s! USBFever seems to recall those times also and has just the thing – a new iPod speaker shaped like a classic boombox!

Here is what the system looks like:

According to the site:

Introductions:
Most of iPod do not have a speaker, although iPod Touch 2nd and iPhone 3G (or even iPhone 3Gs has a built-in speaker, it is still Mono). Want a method to turn your iPhone / iPod with a stereo speaker?
Here you are!

Features:
- Battery Free, powered by iPod
- Stereo output
- Drag power directly from iPhone / iPod, no batteries required.
- ideal to share music and video anywhere and anytime
- Compact
- Lightweight
- Audio input: Apple Dock connector
- Easy access to volume control

The site also says that the speaker is compatible with pretty much every iPod that has a dock connector along the bottom, from the iPod Mini and original Nano to the iPhone 3G S.

I would have no issues putting my 2nd gen Nano on this, but I would be concerned for the health and safety of my beloved 32GB Touch … note that this speaker is ~1.25″ high and weighs about an ounce!

Mobile Technology has played a major role in my life - I have used an electronic companion since the HP95LX more than 20 years ago, and have been a 'Laptop First' person since my Compaq LTE Lite 3/20 and Powerbook 170 back in 1991! As an avid gamer and gadget-junkie I was constantly asked for my opinions on new technology, which led to writing small blurbs ... and eventually becoming a reviewer many years ago. My family is my biggest priority in life, and they alternate between loving and tolerating my gaming and gadget hobbies ... but ultimately benefits from the addition of technology to our lives!
