Quick Apps – AniGif

Here is a good example of an application which is kind of interesting if you have a first or second generation iPhone, but not all that practical if you’re using an iPhone 3GS .

aNiGif lets you take a series of pictures one after the other and then put them together as if you’re flipping through a book of pictures  to create a slide animation or creating a stop-action movie.

You can either take a series of pictures or use ones you have already shot…

The camera interface is familiar to anyone who has used an iPhone…

Then you weave them together and select the speed with which they are shown…

Some examples can be seen here.

It’s easy to use, and it’s interesting. But as I said, if you’ve got an iPhone 3GS, it is less attractive than it might otherwise be, now that the iPhone shoots video.

You can purchase it HERE for $1.99.

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
