AT&T To FCC On Google Voice- “It Wasn’t Us… Seriously”

If AT&T’s initial response to the FCC over the removal of two Google Voice apps and the outright rejection of Google’s own app from the App Store wasn’t clear enough the first time around they are out to make it perfectly clear…

We Did Not Do It!!!

Actually their own words went something like this…

…let me state unequivocally, AT&T had no role in any decision by Apple to not accept the Google Voice application for inclusion in the Apple App Store. AT&T was not asked about the matter by Apple at any time, nor did we offer any view one way or the other.

So maybe AT&T wasn’t behind the GV debacle. Still, by their own admission they HAVE been involved in the crippling of some potentially awesome apps so… AT&T, you might be in the clear on this one but we still don’t like you any more than we did before.

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
