my6Sense is a free application now available in the iPhone App Store. The program is a smart RSS feed reader that imports your feeds (Google Reader, iGoogle, myYahoo, Newsgater, Netvibes) and learns about stories you’re interested in by observing what you read and share. It will take time to see how well this works as the site suggests you use the program at least a week so it can build a knowledge of what you enjoy reading. Once it learns your tastes it prioritizes stories in your feeds that it thinks you will like. Immediately I noticed a few issues that may keep me from using it as my primary RSS feed reader – mainly that it’s slow to update and limits you to 10 items per page before you have to click MORE to get another page of information. What this program EXCELS at is sharing stories on your social networks with friends. This may be the best application for sharing RSS items yet. One click of the button and you can share a link via email, Facebook, Twitter or Friendfeed. Give it a try for a week and see if it improves your RSS reading proficiency.
