The recently announced Nokia entry into computing was shown today to those attending Nokia World. The Nokia Booklet 3G is a Netbook with an embedded 3G cellular modem slated to run Windows 7. With an Atom Z530 CPU, 10.1 inch display and 120GB drive the specs most closely match those of current Netbooks. Unfortunately I see a big problem with the 1GB of RAM that is soldered down to the motherboard which will make expandability a difficult if not impossible task. Cost is also expected to be $818 which if true will likely price this out of the market for all but the most curious Nokia fanatic.

This makes no sense. You can get equivelent netbooks for $300 bucks with expandable ram…. FAIL…

@mchinsky…
No you can’t get equivalent netbook for $300.
This thing has 3G built in, massive battery for up to 12 hours uptime and aluminum casing – there is no netbook with such features even available.
But I do agree that, regardless the features the price is too much, unless of course if Nokia is counting on their carrier connections and that this netbook will be massively discounted…
And if they did produce premium netbook, I think they should at least put SSD in instead of regular hard drive and up the RAM to 2GB.
