We started the weekend with Adrian’s excellent post on what’s wrong and right in college football. Yeah, we’re a site dedicated to gear, but as Judie and I were discussing this morning - there are other things to life than gadgets… at least sometimes.
Adrian’s was a good piece, but it was missing one thing that is not only good but excellent in high school football. Gear Diary Contributor Travis (AKA “Coach”) is a coach for the Falls City High School Battlin’ Beavers.
Two games into the season, and Coach and his team are 2 and 0, with the first game won 40-7 and second game won 28-12.
Travis is what we call “right” with High School Football. Here he is in action…
Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”)
Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
Haha! Thanks! And I thought Dan wanted some clips from the game Friday because he was beginning to like football!

Where’s the Gatorade cooler over the head shots?

Last year I got it on the night we officially won the district championship and a couple of times in the playoffs. It takes your breath away and stops your heart for a few seconds!
