My biggest pet peeve with the MyTouch3G is the damn thing nearly shuts down on me while it syncs email with Google. It will respond to the screen but oh-so-slowly...
First Android to get rid of the lags will then be able to (begin to) compete directly with iPhone.

The proof will be in how fast this thing can run. I wonder what HTC will announce to replace the G1? Are you worried at all about long-term upgradability of the OS, since it has been heavily customized, as compared to the HTC/Google versions on the G1 and myTouch 3G?

@Joel – Looks like a great handset and a worthy successor to the G1. I like what Motorola has done here vs the sens interface. Motoblur is a change but the phone is still very much a Android like interface. Not as drastic as the HTC Sense interface. I like it.

I have about 1 year until my G1 is up and unless something else better comes along, this may be my next phone.
