Soundcraft has released the Si1 Digital Console that would be more at home in a recording studio, concert venue or house of worship than your home podcasting setup.  That doesn’t stop me from wanting this like I do!

The Si1 has 32 mic inputs mapped on 16 faders, and with four dedicated Stereo Line channels, four dedicated FX Returns from the four stereo Lexicon FX processors, it can mix up to 48 inputs.  There are 16 physical XLR inputs for microphones as well.  All of that means you can record and mix a lot of tracks!  A lot more than I would ever need, anyway! The console can also be set up offline with the included software so you can download the show setup to the console via a USB Thumb Drive.

The Soundcraft Si1 Digital Console is lists for £14,000 or just under $23,000, so this is definitely a serious piece of hardware for the pro set. For now, I’ll just have to covet this as it’s a BIT out of my price range! For more on Soundcraft’s equipment, check out their web site.
