Google Fast Flip experiment an innovative new way to read news

Google Labs introduced an interesting new way to view news articles, much like you would read a magazine. This innovative new experiment is called Google Fast Flip, and it is available via a standard web browser interface as well as a mobile web version that works on iPhone and Android.

When you view news on the web, it can be a slow, inconsistent experience. You load a page, click a link, hit back, click another link, and repeat the process. Google Fast Flip is an experiment from Google Labs which takes a new approach to reading news by allowing you to “flip” through pages like you would a magazine. By only loading an article instead of reloading a full page each time, the experience feels much faster. The page animation also makes it feel as if you are flipping through a magazine.

In addition, there is a mobile web version that works on the iPhone and Android mobile browsers. The Android version also has a tactile feedback option to let you “feel” you are turning the page each time.

I tend to enjoy Newsmap.jp as it gives me up to date information and news. I tried the flip and it’s not as convenient as both Newsmap or just my RSS reader on my iPhone. Just my opinion of course. ;)
