The iTwinge is sure to incur the wrath of many Apple purists who would never, ever dare to mar their iPhone with a physical QWERTY keyboard. Yet that is exactly what it does – give the iPhone the typing ability of a (gasp!) BlackBerry.
Details and additional images available after the jump.
According to the manufacturer’s web site:
The world’s first commercially available iPhone® keyboard
- Imagine an email or SMS with no typos
- Plug it in. Turn it on. Type!
- Povides the feel & tactile feedback of a “real” keyboard
- Results in faster typing
Is this an accessory that will appeal to all a majority of iPhone users? Nope. It will add some bulk to the iPhone (and it is yet another accessory to keep up with). But — and here it is — those iPhone power users who are using the device cranking out messages for work and don’t want all of their emails plagued with typos just may want to look into the iTwinge. Ditto for anyone who loves the iPhone’s media capabilities, but just can’t type worth a flip on the capacitive touch screen.
The iTwinge doesn’t use any software, but your iPhone must be plugged into the device (which will use up some of the precious battery life) to work
MSRP: $29.99 (Pre-Order). Shipments begin November 19th.

I’m looking at the pics and see how it covers half the screen. How is that going to work? For many applications, the keyboard pops up when you need it and then disappears back so that you still can see the full screen most of the time. With this, you can’t simply roll it out of the way to see the full screen. Although it’s interesting, I suspect this one have difficulty finding traction.
