I love my iPhone 3GS. (Yes, even though I am also carrying a Blackberry, I still LOVE my iPhone.) At the same time, I HATE the battery life of the device. Seriously, it is BAD. For that reason I never leave my house without my Mophie Juce pack Air; it solves the battery life issues beautifully.

Now Mophie is solving yet another problem- how do you easily carry your iPhone when it is “wearing” a Juice Pack?

Mophie has just unveiled the new Hip Holster line of premium leather cases. They are designed to stash and protect every model of the juice pack for the iPhone, iPhone 3G, and 3GS. Made from high quality leather, each is both durable and soft to the touch. The belt clip is designed to free up pocket space for other items and the quick draw feature allows easy access for one-handed removal. As the company explains,

We’ve identified a great demand from our current customer base for a carrying solution for the juice pack and iPhone that adds convenience and style” says Ross Howe, Sales and Product Development Director for mophie. “The Hip Holsters give easy access to the iPhone and feature a classic premium leather look and feel making them the perfect complement to the juice pack.

The Mophie Hip Holsters 5000, 5500, and 6000 are available now for $29.95 from www.mophie.com

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
