Settling into your Monday routine? It seems that all the big players had an announcement, so before you get too drawn into wrapping up those TPS reports, let’s take a look back at some of the past week’s big stories, deals, and updates.

Palm made it official that they will be dropping Windows Mobile in favor of WebOS. Their current flagship device, the Pre, can now be found as low as $99.99.

The 802.11 WiFi standard was finally ratified. Google’s Fast Flip was released, giving technophiles a new method to get their news fix. Opera gave java smartphone users (especially BlackBerry fans) a browser to cheer about with Opera Mini 5.
The popular task management app, Remember the Milk, finally hit Google’s Android platform with a native application. Thomas showed us some handy Gmail keyboard shortcut tips. Allistair gave us a peek at the Windows Mobile Google Voice application OneDialer.
Apple sort of admitted (mostly thanks to Google’s release of the communications received by Apple) that they were really behind the Google Voice application rejections. The iPhone 3.1 jailbreak was released; unfortunately, it’s not (yet) compatible for the 3GS and iPod Touch 3G ![]()
Jessica let us know how to go ahead and enable MMS on our iPhones if you don’t want to wait around until September 25th.

Facebook announced the upcoming voice chat feature (not being outdone, Twitter and JaJa want you to make your calls using @call).

Dan is already spying the HTC Leo as a possible addition to his smartphone addiction, while Larry and Dan have illustrated yet another use of technology improving their daily lives by melding it with tradition.
Judie continues her language learning series with the Rosetta Stone TOTALe Program, showing how technology is impacting — and improving — personal learning.
