Compared to any of the current rich playing environments it looks lame.  The graphics are blocky, the strategies are pretty easy, and the sound is simple.  But that thing stole my childhood - well at least my pre-teen years.  I could play it for hours.  I agree with the reviewer on the website I linked to - it gets a 10 out of 10 for me.
Couple of years ago I discovered the emulator and I was in heaven!  5 hour flights went by like nothing.  Same went for the waiting in the airport.
