Pocketables has word of a neat deal on the super-small Fujitsu U810. The mini-tablet/notebook features a 5.6” SuperFine WSVGA with a passive touch panel for touch or pen input and a built in QWERTY keyboard, integrated 802.11g Wifi and an SDHC card reader and compact flash card slot. It features an Intel A110 800 MHz processor, 1GB DDR2 400MHz, a 60GB Hard Drive, Bluetooth a 0.3 Mega Pixel Integrated Camera and a 2 Cell (2600 mAh) Battery, provides up to 3 hours of operation. It is far from a powerhouse but it has super features and weighs in at just 0.61kg. At $399.99 it might just be worth a look.

This deal won’t last so if you want one jump on over to sellout.woot.

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
