Gearing up for another treat-filled Halloween?   Last week saw plenty a-brewin’ with the drool-worthy Barnes & Noble Nook eReader (yes, that’s really what it’s called), the Que and the Alex.  Oh, don’t cry for Amazon.  Even as the Kindle gets some real competition this holiday season, Amazon continues to do just fine.

If these new eBook readers didn’t get your blood flowing, how about the big Windows 7 launch?  Judie, Wayne, and Dan were in New York last week for the big festivities.   Wayne and Dan even made it to the Engadget Show beforehand.  Oh, but that bad Apple had to try and rain on the Windows 7 parade with a few little releases of their own.

Oh yes, it’s almost Halloween….so get your tricks ready.  Now’s the perfect time to get a Speck Halloween themed case for 50% off. Wayne found a few nice items you can add to your neighborhood spookfest, including this creepy little energy drink that will keep the party going scare the children.  If that’s not enough, you can always make sure and add this eyeball fountain to your buffet table.  Yum!

Need even more treats?  Well, if you missed it, RockBand for the iPhone OS was released. Allistair took on IM+ for Windows Mobile, and Mark showed off Deal Alert for the Palm Pre.    You can now get even more of your Twitter feed fix straight from Google or Bing.

We caught the Google Wave, but were left a bit underwhelmed with this new revolution method of collaboration.

Travis showed off some iPhone Pang as well as another helping of the Blue Plate Special series.   This week featured the iPlaylist Creator, which will allow you to create playlists from any song without having to connect to your computer or sync to iTunes.

Michael, the Netbook Gamer, took us down memory lane with Unreal. The First Person Shooter Game from 1998 may be just the thing to load up and start playing on your netbook.  If you’re looking for the latest updates on Gaming and new releases, don’t forget to check out Michael’s GearGames Weekly column.

What’s a week without a contest or giveaway? Dan crowned the winner of  an iPhone 3GS Accessory Pack, featuring  an Agent18 SlimCase, a Tenqa Bluetooth speaker, and MovieWedge stand.  The team salutes Gear Diary reader lloydrv, and hopes he gets to kick back and relax with  this great gear.

Oh, don’t worry.  You can still win big, too.  Skooba Designs will be running  their Master of the Digital Universe contest next month.  Do YOU have the power?  Just show off your own “techno-greatness” for a chance to win the following:
