I actually hesitated to post about this sweepstakes, because it’s a bit more girly than any we’ve done. But heck; if we can offer a trip to the NBA All-Star game (which one of our readers actually won!!), then we can certainly offer something which will appeal to our female readers – or to our male readers who want to really surprise a special woman.

Here’s the deal: Maghound, the magazine subscription service that I wrote about trying and am currently thoroughly enjoying, is sponsoring a sweepstakes. The Grand Prize is round trip airfare for two to NYC, hotel accommodations for three days and two nights, a makeover for the winner, and a $1500 shopping spree with a People StyleWatch Editor.

You’ve probably got better than usual odds for wining, because the sweeps will be exclusively promoted by the bloggers who participated in the recently concluded Maghound subscription giveaway.

The sweepstakes will begin on Monday, November 2, 2009 at 12:01 AM Eastern Time and end at 11:59 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday, December 15, 2009.

GRAND PRIZE:
** Round trip Airfare for Two, the Winner and a guest, to New York City, NY on a Thursday through Saturday
** Airport Transportation to and from the NYC airport to the hotel
** Hotel Accommodations for a Three-Day/Two-Night stay at a NYC hotel of the Sponsor’s choice
** Hair and Makeup for the Winner at a People StyleWatch Recommended Salon, which will take place on the Friday of the trip and including: a salon consultation, hair cut & color, make-up application and eyebrow shaping
** PLUS a $1,500 Shopping Spree for the Winner with a People StyleWatch Editor (on that Friday) who will advise on trendy outfits and wardrobe suggestions at a retail store of the Editor’s choice

Other important details:
– The sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 48 contiguous United States and the District of Columbia, age 18 or older at time of entry.
– There are two ways to enter (1) online at www.maghound.com/nycsweeps or by mailing in a postcard (address included on rules page)
– The winner will be selected and notified of their selection by US Sweepstakes, in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received, on or about Wednesday December 23, 2009. Once the grand prize winner is verified as eligible and qualifies for the prize, the contact information will be passed along to MAGHOUND and to the blogger who referred the entrant to the sweeps.
– Please note: The winner will be confirmed via email and/or phone, and will be required to sign and return, within seven (7) days of notification, an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Waiver, and where allowable, a Publicity Release. Travel companion of winner will also be required to sign a travel liability waiver.
– The prize package will be awarded during the time period of January 1, 2010 through March 31, 2010 and subject to People StyleWatch Editor’s schedule.
