Time to welcome another previously offline company to the wonderful world of the web! It’s hard to believe, but not everyone has always been on the web. Why is the launch of this particular website newsworthy on Gear Diary? Read on…

Assistive Stuff is a web catalog that caters to the hearing impaired. Many of the everyday household electronics we use assume we can hear beeps, buzzes and rings. Yet according to Assistive Stuff, an estimated 34.5 million Americans suffer some form of hearing loss! How do you outfit your home to be accessible for day-to-day living?

With items like a Sonic Boom Alarm Clock. Or a variety of safety devices, like bed vibrators that connect to smoke alarms and weather alert programs with strobe lights to warn about bad weather. While they have sections for visual impairment technology, they do not yet carry any product in those categories. Hopefully they will expand into this area soon!

Having a place on the web that offers tools to make living with hearing loss easier is a great resource! If you or someone you know struggles with hearing issues, Assistive Stuff can make everyday life that much better.
