Archos 5 Takes Its Place At Pocketables In Record Time

I recently shared my short-lived experience with the Archos 5 Internet Tablet. My conclusion??Loved the form-factor but was disappointed in the Android implementation and totally underwhealmed by the bugginess and add-on cost of the device.

Well now Jenn Lee over on Pocketables has posted on her experience with the device and how it holds up against the iPhone for web access. Short story? Let’s just say the device has made it into Jenn’s “Closet of gadget purgetory” in record time.

The post is a good read that I highly recommend. You can find it here on Jenn’s site

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
