Here is an iPod touch case that stands out from the crowd…literally. The idox Travel Case offers superb protection for your iPod touch (it is also available for the iPhone and iPod nano) while also providing a great travel stand whenever you need it.

The company was kind enough to send me a review unit keeper, and I have been putting it through its paces. Let’s take a look…

Description:

iPod touch hard case. Travel Case is the perfect match for your sleek, stylish iPod touch. As seen on SkyMall cover, Travel Case is also a Flip-to-View Stand at the perfect viewing angle on an airline or at your desk. iPod touch fits snuggly inside the Traveler and folds up for on-the-go protection in your briefcase, pocket or purse. Flip Traveler open to a perfect angle to browse music and photos, view movies and podcasts.

The case has…
–a hard outer shell that provides wrap around protection.
–a snap closed lid that keeps iPod touch protected
–rubber feet keep case in place while viewing
–the ability to still connect ear phones, sync cable or power adapter.

The case is rather unique look to it. When closed it looks like a sleek wallet. When open and held in portrait it looks like a mini-book. And when in landscape it is… well you’ll see.  The case is available in platinum, black and pink and has a sturdy, substantial feel to it. Best of all, while it provides super protection it only adds 3 oz. of weight.

Here’s a look at it…

The idox Travel Case for iPod touch has an MSRP of $34.95 and can be ordered directly from the company website.

What I Like:

Super protection of the screen, stand holds the iPod touch at just the right viewing angle

What Needs Improvement:

VERY difficult to open at times.

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
