Refurbished Xbox 360 $117.00 for 20gigs

Posted on 17 November 2009 by Mark Chinsky

xboxWell has the mighty Microsoft ‘banstick‘ hit you?  Perhaps the economy whacked you, but you need your video game fill.

Maybe it’s as simple as wanting an extra Windows Media Center unit to watch your stuff on another TV in the house.

This is a refurbished unit, but does include a headset.  But still, quite a good price.

Shipping is about $18.

Get it HERE.

  1. Another thought – I believe the 20GB systems were based on the older processor / motherboard design that is more prone to get the ‘Red Rings of Death’ problem.

Considering you can get a *new* XBOX360 Arcade for $199, I would keep an eye out for Black Friday sales before going the refurb route with the most unreliable gaming console ever made.

Seriously. As horrendous as the Xbox 360’s reputation for hardware failure is without the absolute lastest and greatest internal hardware version, is it worth the risk?

And do they guarantee the consoles they sell aren’t banned units? Haven’t dug into the t’s and c’s on their site, but I wonder what’s a customers recourse if they buy a unit and power it up only to find it’s been banned from Live?

I thought of that, but these would have had to have been processed and refurbed long before last week’s ban.

The seller seems to be fairly reliable. I do know there isn’t a huge gap here between new and refurb, but for some people on a really tight budget just looking for a unit for an extra room, or perhaps for some kind of parts, I haven’t seen a way of getting a unit cheaper than this.

Also, for a user who was banned (I’m not condoning piracy :) ) they can keep their banned/modded unit for offline games, and use this for their online games.
