When the Magic Mouse came our last month I was rather excited. Finally Apple had brought some of the multi-touch magic I had grown to love to the iMac. Yeah! Elana picked one up hours after they were available, and I found that while far from perfect, It was a pretty nice accessory. I have grown more fond of it in the last three weeks.
One thing about it truly amazed me. It was reported to get up to four months of battery life!!
Well I don’t know about you but…

…as I count it, October 29th (purchase date) to today (November 22) falls more than a bit short of four months. Heck it isn’t even ONE MONTH.
I expect manufacturers to overstate their run-time when announcing new devices, but one month instead of four? That’s not even in the same ballpark.

Funny thing is, I don’t even see the four month claim over on Apple’s Store any longer.

I wonder if four months is the time for people who don’t use their computer??

Exactly; you leave it sitting on your desk for four months, and that’s how long it takes for the battery to run down. Don’t you know you’re not actually supposed to *use* the device, Dan?

Damn, I knew I was doing something wrong. Thanks for clearing it up guys.
My next question- will that work for cars and notebooks too???

I really didn’t overly love the Magic Mouse when I tried it yesterday at the Apple Store – and to confirm it does NOT solve the simul-click issue with the Mighty Mouse …looks like a ‘real’ mouse is still needed.
