Headsets Direct, has offered us a pristine Plantronics Discovery 975 Bluetooth Headset to offer in a giveaway; it’s the same model that I reviewed last week, and the same model that I am currently using.
â–º Advanced dual-mic AudioIQ2 technology cancels
noise while retaining the unique sound of your voice
â–º AudioIQ2 technology adjusts to your noisy surroundings
so you hear crisp, clear calls at a comfortable listening volume
► WindSmart® technology, including grooved vents, an acoustic
fabric and electronic filters, aggressively blocks intrusive wind noise
â–º Rechargeable case can triple talk/standby times and displays
connection status and battery levels of earpiece and case
â–º Patented gel eartip provides a stable, comfortable fit and is
designed for quick on/off wearing
â–º Convenient voice prompts automatically alert battery, mute and connection status
► Multipoint technology pairs one earpiece to two phones – like a
smartphone and personal phone – so you never miss a call
â–º Enjoy up to 5 hours talk time or 7 days standby from a single charge
â–º Weights only 8 grams
You can examine all of the headset’s features both in my review and on the Headset’s Direct Site; it has an MSRP of $129.99.
How can you win one for yourself? Well …
We are asking this with our tongues firmly planted in cheek, and that is exactly how we would like you to reply in the comments:
The most creative comment will win – the funnier the better; in other words – be witty! You have until midnight CST, Saturday, November 28th to submit your response.
Contest is limited to US entrants, and the prize will be shipped directly to the winner by Headsets Direct.
Good luck!

I’m sorry officer, but my phone beams signals directly to my brain.

I was just receiving a message from the Mother Ship and they use a different frequency.

I didn’t want to get distracted from my driving by being distracted while looking for the device that was supposed to keep me from being distracted from distracted driving. I think.

Officer, I told your mother not to call me when I am driving, but she just can’t get enough of me!

Well it’s like this office… my dog ate it and although I can talk into his butt and people do hear me, it doesn’t quite work when I put my ear to his butt.
Woof

#1 Officer, I got an unexpected call from Judie Lipsett of Gear Diary who called me to tell me I won a contest. Yes, THAT Judie Lipsett!
#2 Officer, I AM using my bluetooth headset. It just incorporates all the functions of a cell phone so that it looks exactly like one!

“Officer, I was too distracted trying to figure out how to link it to my mobile.”
Good thing this Plantronics is easy peasy!

Officer, that’s not a just a headset…I’m a Cyborg!

Office, I am wearing my headset, but the bluetooth range is only about an inch, so I need to hold my phone this close to get it to work.

My hands-free-headset just blew out the window by a huge gust of wind caused by a speeding semi-truck. I was just on the phone with the State Trooper’s office to report the wreckless and dangerous driving of that semi-truck.
My headset is just back there about 2 miles. Can you go get it for me?
November 23rd, 2009 at 3:42 pm
Officer, lately my neck has been extremely stiff and my doctor told me to get some exercise. To strengthen my neck, I am simply squeezing this phone between my ear and shoulder. Thanks for stopping me, I don’t want to overdo it and I lost count of my reps when I saw the flashing lights behind me, you’re a life saver!

“What excuse do you give the cop who pulls you over for not using a BT headset?â€
1.) My apologies, officer, but I have diarrhea of the mouth and just couldn’t hold my cheeks anymore.
2.) This is a bit embarrassing, but that was my proctologist; I should have my headset back in no time.
3.) It’s not my fault; I told my dentist about my Bluetooth and he pulled it as a medical emergency.
Disclaimer: These responses are not guaranteed to get you out of a ticket, but they are guaranteed to test your poker face and the police department’s sense of humor, or lack there of. ;~)

Officer, I really was wearing my bt headset when I started this conversation, but it flew right off my ear while I was driving to fast through that last stop sign back there. I wasn’t able to stop soon enough before you pulled me over. If you let me go now I will just turn around and go back and pick it up.
