Thanksgiving is upon us. Â A time for turkey, family, friends, football, and…tech? Â Oh, heck yeah! Â Maybe, like me, you’re not one to get too excited about getting up at 3am to sit in a parking lot and grab a “good deal.” Â That’s ok. Â There look to be plenty of opportunities to just point-and-click your way over to great deals. Â No doubt, you’ll see many right here on Gear Diary throughout the holiday season. Â Be sure to check back often for the latest and greatest in deals (and product reviews, so you don’t go out and buy another turkey).
If you have friends or family that can’t make it to see you this holiday season, remember that you can still make their Thanksgiving day with a free call using Truphone. Â So, as you keep reading to fondly review last week’s highlights, take a moment to tell us what you are most thankful for this season – and chime in to let us know if there’s any big Black Friday deal you’ve seen that you’d like to share with fellow readers (hey, in this economy we are all in this together…so let’s get some good gear at the lowest possible prices!). Â Please share in the comments. Â Thanks!
First — Take some time to WIN STUFF!!!

If you’ve been a good boy or girl — and read up on Judie’s post here — you may be lucky enough to win yourself a shiny new Plantronics Discovery 975 Bluetooth Headset from Headsets Direct.  You have until midnight CST, Saturday, November 28th to submit your responses!
And if that isn’t enough to get you into the Holiday spirit…

How about a very intriguing Mystery Teaser for a soon-to-be-announced contest? Â The Gear Diary editors have something up their sleeves this season. Â Something verrrrrrrrrrry interesting is going to be coming to the readers of Gear Diary. Â What are Judie, Dan, and Larry working on? Â Hmmmmmm….
In Case You Missed It….A few of last week’s highlights and announcements:

Google continues to stir excitement, not only with Android, but with Chrome.  Your friendly neighborhood search engine behemoth released their highly anticipated Chrome operating system.  If the announcement wasn’t enough to get you interested, maybe the ability to go ahead and download the VMware version of the Chrome OS was enough to twist your arm and make you cave into curiosity to check it out?  Yes? No?  Maybe…?

Well, then, how about those non-stop Google phone rumors? Â Are you interested in a full-fledged data-only Google smartphone? Â Think an official VoIP only Google branded device is in the pipeline? Â Is the world ready for such a thing?
Maybe you’d be happy to just be able to do some proper multitasking on your iPhone? Â What, you say you can’t do that? Â Au contraire! Â Larry showed us all just how to really make your iPhone shine with three free apps. Â Check out Larry’s video below showing just how powerful these applications will make your (jailbroken
) iPhone:
If that didn’t tickle your smartphone fancy, how about Allistair’s update on the beta release of Office Mobile 2010? You can snag it now right from the Windows Marketplace and be a mobile powerhouse with the Microsoft® Office® and SharePoint Workspace Mobile integration.  Wait?  Windows phones are too passe for you?  If you still think that then you surely missed Judie’s preview of the HTC HD2 — or as we just call it here, the drool phone.

Maybe you’ve already got your holiday shopping list all planned out? Â Perhaps you’re thinking of a brand new notebook. Â Maybe even the latest Toshiba Satellite T135-S1309. Â If so, you’d better take a look at Dan’s review to see how the Windows 7 notebook faired hands-on (video below).
If you’re all set with your computing needs, maybe you just want to kick back and enjoy some games. Â Have your heart set on a PSP Go? Â Michael Anderson’s gone more than just a few rounds with the portable gaming machine. Â Stop in and read his review to see if the PSP truly has enough “go” to make the purchase worth your while. Â Don’t forget to check out Michael’s latest gaming features to get your gaming fix — including Gear Games Weekly, The NetBook Gamer, and a host of recent game reviews.

More interested in eBooks and readers to stay on top of the latest best-sellers? Â We got that covered, too. Â You’ve probably become a fan of Carly’s State of the eBook series here on Gear Diary. Â This week Carly tackled a ton of updates, including an eReader for Android, a recent move by Sony to replace one college’s textbooks with Sony Readers, and the very latest on the Barnes & Noble Nook, and Amazon Kindle. Â Get the full run down of updates right here.

Finally, what week would be complete without an Apple iTablet? Â Oh, the highly anticipated and much rumored device still isn’t out yet? Â Has the leprechaun and unicorn factory that Steve Jobs has running up in Himalayas shut down? Â Have the Apple Geniuses not heard the consumer cries to have this wonderful do-it-all device ready for the holiday season? Â Well, it better come out soon, or Dan may just have to settle for…Â this!
