Skooba Design has just announced their new line of Netbook Neo Sleeves, which feature a “form-fitting, stretchy and cushy neoprene skin” so that you can carry your netbook alone or in a bag without adding a bunch of extra bulk. They’re available in catchy color combinations, and they’d look spiffy with Skooba’s recently announced Netbook Messenger.

Rochester, NY, November 23, 2009—On the heels of its recent introduction of Netbook Messenger Bags, Skooba is expanding its accessory offering with a colorful collection of protective skins for netbook computers up to 10.1 inch screen size.

The new “Netbook Neo Sleeve” is a form-fitting, padded neoprene skin that protects against bumps, scratches and the elements. The zip-around Sleeve fully encloses the netbook, and can be carried inside another bag, or on its own using the included, removable shoulder strap. A stretchy, front zipper compartment provides space for the power adapter, and there’s even a dedicated USB thumb drive storage slot. If the front pocket is left empty, the Sleeve is airport “checkpoint friendly,” so it can be put through x-ray screening without removing the netbook. Skooba’s Netbook Neo Sleeve is available in the same 4 color combinations as its recently-introduced Netbook Messenger— Abyss Black, Blizzard White, Deep Ocean Blue and Inferno Red, each with contrasting charcoal front pocket.

The Neo Sleeve provides a high level of protection, yet adds minimal bulk, and tips the scales at a near “zero-gravity” 6.4 ounces.

The Netbook Neo Sleeve’s MSRP is $19.95, and you can read more about it here.

I started Gear Diary on September 30, 2006, and my goal was that this not be an easily labeled site. We all have gear that we use daily – some of it electronic and some of it organic. I think it is fascinating to explore the equipment that makes our lives easier, more entertaining, more productive, and more manageable. My hope is that Gear Diary visitors will find this site to be a comfortable and friendly place to discuss interesting topics – and not only those that are tech related, as well as a location to discover various types of gear – whatever that term may end up implying – that they never knew existed. My specialty is in-depth reviews written in a layman’s terms, because everyone can understand technology, sometimes it just takes a little translating. +Judie Stanford
