Well it turns out that the 7″ tablet running Android that we first posted on the other day may, in fact, be real. That means it just might be available in the timeframe initially described- early next month. The Camangi WebStation is 7″ tablet with Android that includes web browser, music(video) player, digital frame, eBook reader, and so on. With a sensitive touchscreen and a high-resolution display.

The WebStation weights 13.75 oz, is 1/2 inch thick and has a 7″ screen with 800 by 480 resolution. They have even gone live with a promised app store.

More details on the brand new company site. http://www.camangi-webstation.com. Pictures follow.

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
