The SmartSwipe is a nifty little gadget that can save you from hours of annoyance (or worse) when your credit card number gets swiped. Basically the system lets you use the same technology stores uses to swipe credit card information from your card and then encrypt it for sending over the internet.

Well we are giving away the review unit and it is going to…

Reader ocergj.

ocergj tells us that the weirdest thing every purchased on the internet was…

I bought on-line was a neck stretcher!

I get migraines and this was supposed to stretch the muscles in your neck to relieve the pain, but it really just turned me into a pencil neck geek.

At least now I’m taller than my twin brother!

The SmartSwipe will be on its way once ocergj privately emails us…

his address, bank numbers, bank pin numbers and social security number. :)

Okay, how about just an address.

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him. +Dan Cohen
